PUBLICATION OF FINNISH LANGUAGE NOTAM SERIES K WILL END
|

As of 27 NOV 2025, International NOTAM office (NOF) will discontinue the publication of Finnish Series K NOTAM. From this date onward, all NOTAMs will be issued only in English.

2 Background and Rationale
|
NOF has published NOTAM Series K in parallel with the English language NOTAM. Over time, the importance of Series K has diminished. Since the introduction of the EAD system in 2010, pre-flight information bulletins (PIB) on the AIS website (www.ais.fi/bulletins) have been available in English only. As a consequence of this, it has been decided to discontinue the publication of NOTAM Series K as of 27 NOV 2025.

The change will have the following implications:

Publication of NOTAM Series K will end completely as of 27 NOV 2025. All NOTAM Series K still in force on that date will be cancelled shortly after midnight, and thereafter all NOTAM will be published only in English in Series A, B, C, D and E.

Functionalities previously based on NOTAM Series K, such as the dissemination of information, flight preparation (PIB), or other arrangements, shall therefore be based on NOTAMs published in English. The FPC unit will be available to assist in the interpretation of NOTAMs if necessary.

NOTAM proposals should hereafter be submitted to the NOF primarily in English. However, NOTAM originators may still submit proposals also in Finnish if necessary.
